Vendor Sara Parker

Made in the USA

The Brown Thrasher lives on the edge of the woodlands. It forages for its omnivorous diet in shrubs, small trees and on the ground. The Brown Thrasher is an excellent songster with a repertoire of over 1,000 songs. I love their markings and hearing them in the garden. Also, the state bird of Georgia.

About The Artist

Sara Parker Textiles is a bespoke printmaking and textile design company in Athens, Georgia. Co-owned and operated by Sara Parker and Simon Hunt since 2010, their line of textiles is hand-printed in their in-house studio on sustainable, organic fabrics.

The textiles are meant to be enjoyed as a work of art in your home. Instead of following design trends, their patterns are inspired by backyard flora and fauna in the hope this makes their line unique and lasting.

Sara is a multidisciplinary designer who studied Fiber and Material Studies at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2010, after teaching and working with many artists in Chicago, Sara decided to return home to Georgia to start her own textile label where she could engage with her love of screen printing on fabric. When she’s not at the print table, Sara is often tending the garden or designing new prints on paper.

Simon is a photographer, printmaker and musician based in Athens, Georgia. In each of these technique-oriented disciplines, he explores the counterpoint between texture, geometry and improvisation. He graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he met Sara and joined her in creating textile yardage and art prints, which they produce in their home studio.
